I lost around 2 kilos in a couple of weeks.
I knew that being in a group was the solution for me. I am really bad when it comes to train on my own… motivation is not easy. Whereas in a group, you force yourself to make the effort and since you are paying for it, you might as well make it worth it.
After 2 to 3 weeks I could see my body change, I was getting toner and stronger. I finally had a flat stomach (I think I have never had a flat stomach). I lost around 2 kilos in a couple of weeks.
The sessions are a good mix of everything – to get stronger, toner but also fitter. I was not able to run for more than 2 minutes before (no joke…2 min)… and now I can run 20 minutes with no problems.

The first week was the worst week I ever had in terms of soreness… I needed help getting out of the car the next day… But by week 2 it was already so much easier and better. I feel like I’m getting better week by week. My legs are getting stronger and more toned.
The best is that I never feel pressured into doing anything, rather encouraged to push my limits. I’m excited for each session and I don’t feel judged if one of the exercises is just no my strength. It feels more like a supportive environment than a competitive judging one. And I know I can listen to my body and if I stop that is not an issue at all (I won’t be called out by anyone).

People are commenting on how my waist is shrinking and my arms are toning up.
After joining I was a bit apprehensive about it all. Was this a good idea? Is this going to work, or be like all the rest? However after talking to Lloyd on the phone I was keen to start. He listened to any concerns I had, answered all my queries and made me feel at ease.
After 6 weeks I had results. Things like not feeling quite so stuffed after a workout or my recovery time was a lot faster. Noticing that the muscles in my stomach were getting harder, my arms felt stronger, and I could run a bit. People are commenting on how my waist is shrinking and my arms are toning up. I definitely have more muscle tone, and I definitely feel more comfortable.
There was just no consistency, I wasn’t getting results. Every time I went for a run it would be the same. I would struggle at the same point, I couldn’t push myself…
I could barely do a push-up when we first started. And then 4 weeks later I could actually do a full minute of push ups. It’s made a huge difference in my cardio and my breathing too. There’s those little things where I’m no longer hesitant to do any exercise like going for a run on the beach or going for a walk around the mount with friends.
I’ve noticed a difference in the way clothes fit. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in strength, even just at work lifting things, or moving things around. I definitely have more muscle tone, and I definitely feel more comfortable.

I started Valkyrie Fitness because throughout the years that I’ve been helping people with their fitness goals I kept coming across the same thing over and over again. Almost all of my female friends who were struggling with their fitness goals said the same thing; that it’s just so difficult for young women to get GOOD information about how to burn fat and get stronger. There’s just a constant bombardment of fad-diets and cleanses and detoxes and miracle super foods which unfortunately had caused a lot of my female friends to have their metabolisms slowed down to a halt from all the ultra-low calorie dieting they had been doing all their life.
And on top of that there was another trend – there was simply no unique space specifically for young women that purely focused on burning fat, getting stronger and building confidence. And after a certain point of seeing the same thing over and over again I knew I had to do two things:
1. I needed to become a source of GOOD, QUALITY information to help young women build their knowledge of what is needed to get in great shape (without the typical green smoothie, crunches and cardio, fad-diet fluff)
2. I needed to establish a unique space that is specific to young women and provide everything that is needed to burn fat, build muscle, get strong and feel like a boss. From the structured workouts to the nutritional coaching to the group accountability – this needed to be a whole-package deal
